How it all started

The European Clinical Specialization Fluency consortium has been running one-year specialization courses since 2008 with an annual intake of around 20 students. Graduates of this course distinguish themselves by their outstanding ability, their in-depth knowledge and their expertise in the field of stuttering and cluttering.

In order to acquire and maintain European fluency specialist recognition, ECSF partners agreed that ongoing clinical and/or academic work and continued professional activities would be necessary.

Therefore, they developed this specialist recognition program for speech and language therapists wanting to become stuttering and cluttering specialists.
