Giorgio Benedetti

I graduated in Patholinguistics (Academic Speech and Language Therapy) from the University of Potsdam, Germany, in 2023, after previously completing a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Bologna and a Master’s degree in Linguistics, with a focus on psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics.

After completing my clinical training, I developed a specific interest in fluency disorders and completed a clinical internship at the CRC Balbuzie in Rome, a specialised centre for stuttering. After graduating, I further developed my clinical experience through an internship at the Bonner Stottertherapie in Bonn, Germany.

In 2024, I completed the European Stuttering Specialization, a comprehensive training program focused on the assessment and treatment of stuttering. I have also participated in two editions of CAMP Dream Speak Live, in Ireland and Italy, further developing my clinical knowledge and experience in working with people who stutter.

Since 2026, I have been working as a speech and language therapist in private practice in Bologna, Italy, providing assessment and therapy in Italian, English and German. I specialize in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults who stutter and clutter.

My clinical approach to stuttering is multidimensional and person-centred, considering both overt and covert aspects of stuttering, as well as the individual’s communication experiences, attitudes, emotions and participation in everyday life. I integrate different therapeutic approaches according to the individual needs and goals of each client.

My broader clinical interests include also developmental language disorders, learning difficulties and multilingualism. My academic background in linguistics and psycholinguistics contributes to an interdisciplinary perspective on communication and fluency disorders.
