Virtual Reality and Stuttering: Challenges and Prospects
This webinar discusses the potential benefits of virtual reality (VR) as a complementary tool in supporting people who stutter. It explains what VR is, its possible applications, the mechanisms underpinning it, and the studies that have examined its use with people who stutter. It will also open up a discussion on the limitations of the current evidence and possible avenues for further development.
Speaker: Anne-Lise Leclercq, PhD, is a speech and language therapist and an Associate Professor at the University of Liège, Belgium. She began her career conducting research on developmental language disorders. She then went on to work with people who stutter and continued her research in this field. In recent years, her research interests have included, amongst other things, the use of virtual reality as a tool to support people who stutter.
